Zach and Camille had one of the most charming wedding days at The Manor at Airmont. Despite scattered bouts of heavy rain, they truly made the most of every second and enjoyed a day full of love and warmth surrounded by their dearest relationships.
No bride wants to wake up to forecast of rain on their wedding day. I certainly didn’t, but it poured without ceasing my entire wedding day. But if I learned anything from being a “rain bride” it was that trusting your photographer can still help you achieve gorgeous, colorful, romantic wedding photos no matter the weather. I was determined to give that to sweet Camille and Zach.
Luckily, they planned such happy, colorful, spring details into every part of their day. From Camille’s flower petal embroidered wedding dress to the flowers that the venue owner Natallia and her daughter Aleyna designed, you felt like you were in a sunlit garden despite overcast skies.
Applauding The Manor at Airmont Team
On that note, I have to give a big shoutout to The Manor at Airmont team. Not far from the beautiful towns of Purcellville, Leesburg, and Middleburg, this venue is immaculately kept by the Francis family! Natallia and her husband Anthony were such hospitable hosts. They live on the property with their three children. The family-run operation made everyone not only feel at home, but confident in the service and quality available. You felt like a welcomed guest as they bustled around making every detail perfect. I highly recommend this team and venue to any couple looking for a Northern VA wedding venue.
Emotional Moments and Rain Solutions
Back to Zach and Camille, their day started with a flury of activities to get ready. But soon enough we were having Private First Looks, first with Camille’s dad then with Zach. Camille and her dad barely held back tears as they hugged at their Daddy-Daughter First Look. It was so precious.
And when Zach saw Camille, his entire face brightened! We found just enough of a break in the rain to do their First Look in the open field. They read their vows to one another in private, then welcomed their wedding party over for portraits. But right as I took that first group photo, the rain let loose. We all scurried inside to meet on the porch instead. I stood out in the pouring rain to capture the bridal party standing on the porch to stay dry. I’d do anything to give my clients amazing photos! 🙂
Bonus Tip: If you’re worried about rain on your wedding day, you just need one covered porch or rooms with enough windows to still get beautifully lit images. And download a radar app! I’ll be using one the entire day to find pockets of clear to take you outside and capture outdoor backdrops for your portraits. Flexibility and trust is so key!

Camille wrote a beautiful poem to thank her guests and family. There were many emotional reactions. Probably my favorite “welcome/thank you” speech by the bride and groom!
