Andrew & Lauren’s National Gallery of Art Engagement Session | Washington, D.C. Wedding Photographer

National Gallery of Art Engagement Session | Washington, D.C. Wedding Photography

Lauren and Andrew quickly became a couple after my own heart. They were such a dream to work with at their National Gallery of Art engagement session! As soon as I turned the corner inside the Gallery to meet them, I was instantly swooning over these two. Lauren wore a cream-yellow taffeta gown with puffy tulle sleeves. And it made Andrew’s blue suit pop beautifully and complement both of their blue eyes. They truly outshone the art around them, in my opinion.

Their Proposal Story

Aside from their impeccable engagement session outfits, I quickly fell in love with their story. Andrew proposed after they visited a cat café. Yup, I found my fellow cat people!! Lauren is also a cat mom! She has a 16-year-old fur baby. So we easily bonded when I shared details about my 18-year-old orange kitty, Ryan. (You guys still remember him right?? He’s been MIA lately, since he moved home with my parents.)

She’s also all things princess obsessed. When proposing to Lauren, Andrew presented her with a beautiful Cinderella’s carriage ring box. But it was empty when she opened it! Surprised, she then looked at him to see him holding the ring: a stunning rose-colored sapphire engagement ring inside a rose gold setting.

The sapphire was a nod to both their mothers’ rings, which feature blue sapphires. What a serendipitous detail proving these sweethearts were meant to be!

Having Fun at their National Gallery of Art Engagement Session

This is just a perfect example why I love photographing couples’ engagement sessions before the wedding day. We get to connect so much on a personal level in a short amount of time! Now when I hug Lauren and Andrew on their wedding day in June, I’ll be hugging friends, not just clients.

It’s so important to me to get to click with my clients. Not only does it make my job easier, but it helps you enjoy this experience even more! We can now look back at their National Gallery of Art engagement session and remember the funny stories and sweet memories we created for them, not just the stunning backdrops and classy props.

I hope as you scroll through their images, you can almost hear Lauren’s adorable giggle, and feel Andrew’s warm personality. I’m so proud to present these two on the blog… Also, don’t miss Lauren’s anmazing shoe game!! As a fellow shoe enthusiast, I had so much fun photographing her. Enjoy, and stay tuned for their Mankin Mansion wedding this summer!!

When Taylor reached out about having me photograph her Hilton Head Island wedding, I could hardly believe it. Since marrying my husband, I’ve enjoyed annual trips to Hilton Head with my in-laws, who have been visiting for years. Tips for Choosing Between These Savannah Wedding Venues

  1. Consider Your Guest List Size
Savannah wedding venues come in all shapes and sizes. From intimate gardens to sprawling estates, ensure the venue you choose comfortably accommodates your guest list.
  2. Think About Your Wedding Style
Your venue should reflect your wedding vision. Are you dreaming of timeless elegance, coastal charm, or a whimsical outdoor affair? Savannah has venues that can bring any aesthetic to life, but the wrong venue can make your details and decor appear out of place. Make the most of that investment (and wedding photos) by choosing a venue that harmonizes with your style!
  3. Factor in Logistics
From transportation to accommodations, Savannah is known for its hospitality, but it’s wise to consider the proximity of your venue to hotels and local attractions for your guests’ convenience. Consider traffic, city events on or around your wedding day that may cause disruption, and other logistics your guests may face. A wedding planner will help you navigate all the unexpected challenges with ease!
  4. Book Early
Savannah is a popular wedding destination, especially in spring and fall. To secure your dream venue, book your Savannah wedding venue as early as possible! Then secure primary vendors on your list such as photographer, videographer, planner (if you don’t yet have one) and more.

Making the Most of Savannah Wedding Venues

Choosing one of Savannah’s stunning wedding venues is just the beginning. Personalize your celebration with touches that reflect your interests and love story. Whether it’s incorporating local cuisine like shrimp and grits, offering your guests trolley rides through the historic district, or having your photos taken under the iconic Spanish moss, Savannah is full of ways to make your wedding day an unforgettable experience for all.
