A Peachtree City Wedding Photographer’s Guide to the Best Local Engagement Photo Locations

If you’re recently engaged (congratulations!) and planning a wedding in Peachtree City or the surrounding areas (Newnan, Tyrone, Senoia, Serenbe, or even Atlanta), your engagement session is the perfect warm-up before the big day. As a Peachtree City wedding photographer, I’ve really come to love our quaint little golf cart town. And as I putt around on our bright blue golf cart, I’ve seen so many PERFECT engagement photo locations right here in Peachtree City! We’re spoiled here with miles of golf cart paths, sparkling lakes, and lush parks — and that’s just scratching the surface.

In this guide, I’ll share:

  • My favorite Peachtree City proper locations for engagement photos.
  • Nearby scenic alternatives worth the short drive for more options.
  • Pro tips to help you pick the location that matches your style and love story.

Whether you picture yourselves hand-in-hand on a lakeside dock, sharing a laugh under towering pines, or strolling cobblestone streets at golden hour, this list will help you find a spot that feels perfectly “you.”

The Best Engagement Photo Locations in Peachtree City, GA

1. Lake Peachtree Docks

Nothing says “romance” quite like sunset over the water. No wonder many love birds gather here to watch it, especially couples who are celebrating DECADES of marriage. The docks at Lake Peachtree offer sweeping views, soft evening light, and a serene backdrop. I love starting here and timing portraits just as the sky turns gold and pink.

Pro Tip: Wear soft, flowing fabrics — the breeze off the lake adds movement to photos in a way that feels effortless and natural.

2. Drake Field

This park is a local favorite for a reason. Open grassy areas meet the lakeshore, and in spring, blooming trees add dreamy pops of color. It’s perfect for couples who want a relaxed, airy session with plenty of variety in just one stop.

Best Time to Shoot: Early morning for calm waters and soft light, or golden hour for that warm, romantic glow.

3. Flat Creek Country Club Grounds

If you’re a member or have access, the manicured grounds at Flat Creek are stunning. Rolling fairways, water features, and classic Southern architecture make for timeless portraits.

Perfect For: Couples who want that country club elegance — think polished but still warm and inviting.

4. Golf Cart Path Overlooks

Peachtree City’s iconic golf cart paths offer little hidden overlooks that locals know well. Some wind past streams, others through clusters of pines. They’re perfect for creating a “just us, no one else around” feel. If you’re down for an “adventure” engagement session, we can find so many unique spots in a fun, relaxing golf cart ride! I’ll drive, you enjoy!

5. The Avenue Murals

For a more urban touch, the brick facades, staircases, and charming storefronts around The Avenue give off a quaint “date night in downtown” feel without leaving Peachtree City. There are even a couple murals we could use as backdrops (although the iconic Peachtree City one seems to be under construction as of August 2025, check back later on that one).

Bonus – You’d end up right near J. Andrews Bridal, so you could try to schedule your session on the same day as a dress shopping or tailoring appointment for a wedding-filled day! If you haven’t found your dress yet, my dear friends at J. Andrews are UNMATCHED and will be your one-stop for finding your dream dress.

6. Kedron Hills Neighborhood

North Cove Drive boasts some of the most beautiful mansion homes in Peachtree City! This quiet street features oil street lamps, cast iron fences, and beautiful public squares that look like the town in Disney’s Lady and the Tramp.

Nearby Scenic Engagement Photo Locations Outside of Peachtree City

If you’re open to a short trip, these nearby spots offer unique backdrops that can give your engagement gallery a completely different look:

1. Historic Downtown Senoia (15 minutes)

Famous for its preserved architecture and small-town charm (and Walking Dead filming locations), Senoia offers brick sidewalks, café patios, and historic homes — a perfect blend of sophistication and nostalgia.

2. Serenbe – Chattahoochee Hills (30 minutes)

Part European village, part countryside dream. Serenbe’s cobblestone streets, flower boxes, and pastoral fields make it feel like a destination session without the long travel.

3. Downtown Newnan (25 minutes)

For couples who want a bit of Southern city charm, Newnan’s courthouse square, historic buildings, and tree-lined streets make for elegant, classic images. Avoid busy days and times if you are nervous posing in front of strangers.

4. Callaway Gardens (45 minutes)

If you’re up for a longer drive, Callaway Gardens rewards you with gardens, lakes, and seasonal blooms that make your photos look like they belong in a magazine.

Tips for Choosing Your Engagement Session Location

  1. Think About Your Wedding Style – If your wedding is classic and elegant, choose a location with timeless architecture. For laid back or whimsical weddings, go for nature-focused spots.
  2. Consider the Season – Spring brings flowers, fall brings color, and summer brings lush greenery (plus a little heat!).
  3. Match Your Outfits to the Location – Neutral tones for nature, bolder colors for urban backdrops. Also consider formality – black tie attire will look out of place on a golf cart path, and casual clothes will feel less than special against a golf club backdrop.
  4. Prioritize Comfort – You’ll look your best when you feel relaxed and confident. Dress up for the occasion, but be careful to pic outfits that fit you well and have low-fuss so you’re not tugging at your clothes.
  5. Trust the Light – Heavy tree cover may look pretty to the naked eye, but doesn’t offer flattering lighting. I always guide my couples on the best time & locations for golden hour magic.

Key Takeaways

  1. Peachtree City offers stunning engagement photo locations from lakes to charming downtown corners.
  2. Consider the season and temperature to choose a spot that makes you comfortable.
  3. Match your outfits to the location to avoid looking out of place in your photos.
  4. Embrace “hidden gems” we find along the way if we choose to explore multiple areas!
  5. The right location should reflect your personalities and wedding style.

Every detail of the Madelyn Tenney Events Spring Design Showcase 2025 was pure magic. As an Atlanta wedding photographer, I had the joy of being invited to capture not only the beautifully curated spaces but also the intimate behind-the-scenes moments that made this spring showcase possible. From lush florals to elegant table settings, the event was a treasure trove of spring wedding inspiration for brides dreaming up their perfect day.

Hosted at Nova Studio in the heart of Atlanta, this carefully crafted experience was designed to set the tone for the upcoming wedding season—and it did not disappoint.

Spring Wedding Inspiration for Modern Southern Brides

The design vision for the showcase–Prima Flora–embraced soft pastels, delicate textures, and fresh seasonal styling. Think romantic blush tones, textured linens, and floral-forward installations. Madelyn and her talented team created a setting that felt simultaneously elevated and welcoming. It was truly a perfect exhibition of what sophisticated spring weddings can be in Georgia.

As I arrived early to document the event setup, I was able to photograph the team in their element: adjusting linens, styling stationery, and rehearsing the layout one last time. These behind-the-scenes moments revealed just how much heart went into this event. It’s easy to see why so many brides trust Madelyn Tenney Events to bring their dream weddings to life.

Behind the Scenes with Madelyn Tenney Events

Before the doors opened, I had the privilege of capturing team headshots for the women behind Madelyn Tenney Events. Their energy, collaboration, and vision made it clear this wasn’t just a design showcase—it was a heartfelt celebration of creativity and community.

The environment was buzzing with excitement as florists arranged final stems and vendors fluffed the final cushions. The team’s chemistry was undeniable, and it translated directly into the seamless flow of the event itself.

The Madelyn Tenney Events Spring Design Showcase

At the heart of the showcase were the intentional design vignettes. Each space told a story, offering spring wedding inspiration tailored for modern Southern brides. One standout element was a centerpiece floral installation by Marigo Flowers, assisted by Pollen Floral Company. It floated above a table layered with blush-toned linens from BBJ La Tavola, catching the light beautifully throughout the afternoon.

An eye-catching ice sculpture by Ice Sculpture Inc. ATL added a playful, elevated touch to the scene, while live entertainment from Jewel the Ballerina captivated attendees with ethereal movement, bringing life to the experience. Glasswing Rentals curated tableware that sparkled under the natural light of Nova Studio, and JC Rental Collective and Party Bound contributed pieces that gave each setup personality and polish.

Why This Event Matters for Atlanta Brides

If you’re a bride planning a wedding in Atlanta, Savannah, or North Georgia looking for fresh spring wedding inspiration, events like this one are invaluable. They don’t just showcase trends—they display the talent of local, trustworthy vendors who are passionate about what they do.

Every vendor at this showcase brought their A-game. Seeing each one’s work in person—and getting to document it as a film-inspired wedding photographer—was such an honor.

What I Loved Most as an Atlanta Wedding Photographer

Photographing this spring wedding inspiration at Nova Studio was a dream. The soft filtered light made the colors pop in a way that felt timeless and true-to-color. My goal is always to deliver film-inspired wedding photos that feel both editorial and authentic. The setting created by Madelyn Tenney Events was ideal for that.

Being trusted to document the designs and the passion behind them—team portraits, set-up, genuine laughter—reminds me why I love this work. These are the moments that couples don’t always see. These are the images that reveal the effort, energy, and heart poured into a couple’s day long before they say I do.
