The Venue at Murphy Lane: A Slice of Heaven Tucked Away in the Countryside Near Atlanta

If you’re dreaming of a spring wedding surrounded by rolling meadows, vibrant wildflowers, and timeless Southern elegance, The Venue at Murphy Lane in Coweta County may be your dream venue. Just outside of Atlanta, in the charming town of Newnan, Georgia, this family-owned property offers more than just a beautiful space — it offers heart.

I had the opportunity to personally tour The Venue at Murphy Lane, and it absolutely blew me away. From the moment we arrived, Kara greeted us at the drive with the kind of warmth and Southern hospitality that makes you feel instantly at home. She introduced us to her husband Hank, and together they guided us through a property.

The Drive In: First Impressions Matter

As you turn onto the property, you’re welcomed by a tree-lined drive that feels like a peaceful retreat. Crepe myrtles frame the way as you pass a charming Southern-style home on the right. At the end of the path, you’ll see the signature white barn — the heart of The Venue at Murphy Lane.

But don’t let the word barn fool you. While it was originally constructed as an RV garage, Hank and Kara transformed it into a bright, elegant space that feels more Southern countryside sophistication than rustic farmhouse. The clean white exterior, tall ceilings, and tasteful crystal chandeliers give it an open and airy atmosphere. I truly believe that would photograph beautifully in any lighting — even after sunset.

A Wedding Venue Near Atlanta with Endless Versatility

One of the first things that stood out to me was how versatile the entire space is. Whether your vision leans romantic and traditional, minimalist and modern, or full Southern glam, this venue can match your aesthetic. The main reception room is spacious, well-lit, and tastefully decorated with neutral tones — the perfect blank canvas.

Just off the main space is a fully enclosed patio, used for cocktail hour and as a gorgeous indoor ceremony site option. With its high windows, this space is flooded with natural light and offers a beautiful plan B (or even a solid plan A) for anyone who wants to avoid unpredictable Georgia weather.

Outside, Kara walked us through the options for an open-air dance floor under string lights on the adjacent patio. It was easy to picture a spring evening with music, laughter, and twinkle lights overhead.

Multiple Ceremony Sites With Stunning Views

One of the true gems of The Venue at Murphy Lane is the variety of ceremony locations available. From the patio, you can see two of them:

The Valley is a smaller, more intimate ceremony space tucked into a grove of trees. Set slightly downhill from the main barn, it’s private, quiet, and ideal for couples who want a romantic, natural setting.

To the right is a breathtaking pasture ceremony site, anchored by a massive oak tree. This area provides a long, dramatic aisle and sweeping views. Guests can be shuttled by golf carts, a feature that’s offered throughout the property to make navigating the grounds easy.

Another unexpected favorite was the vineyard ceremony location — a stunning aisle flanked by grapevines Hank planted specifically to create a “winery” vibe. There’s a lovely stone path leading down the center, and although they don’t produce wine, the look is beautiful and unique. If you’re going for a romantic outdoor wedding near Atlanta that feels like a destination escape, this is it.

Portrait Paradise: A Photographer’s Dream Location

As a North Georgia wedding photographer, I’m always paying close attention to how a venue photographs. The Venue at Murphy Lane honestly delivers everywhere you turn.

There’s the iconic tree-lined driveway for sweeping romantic shots. Then the grand oak tree in the pasture for those golden hour couple portraits. There’s a jasmine-draped archway in the bridal garden, where a tree swing and cast-iron table add a touch of whimsy. The mosaic-style stone flooring in this garden gives just enough texture to ground your detail shots beautifully.

We visited in peak crimson clover bloom, and the rolling hill covered in vibrant magenta-red blossoms took my breath away. That hill faces the sunset, and the glow it casts across the fields during golden hour? Absolute magic. If you’re planning a wedding from mid-April to early May, you just might get that once-a-year meadow bloom in your portraits. It’s the kind of natural beauty you can’t plan — but when it shows up, it’s unforgettable.

Behind the Barn: Thoughtful Features for Comfort and Flow

Inside the barn, you’ll find two thoughtfully designed holding rooms for the bride and groom. The bridal suite is a dream: multiple vanity stations with bright makeup lighting, full-length mirrors, soft seating, and a mimosa bar. There’s also plenty of space to hang dresses and settle in for a relaxing morning.

The groom’s suite is more compact but includes comfortable seating, an attached bathroom, and a mini fridge — everything needed for a low-key morning with the guys.

A smart design feature? Both holding rooms are connected to the guest restrooms but can be separated with a curtain, allowing guests access to the facilities without entering the bridal areas. And both suites open directly into the bridal garden, making it the perfect spot for a private first look before the ceremony begins.

The Cabin, the Pond, and the Personal Touch

A bit farther into the property is a beautiful log cabin that doubles as an Airbnb rental. This is usually where the groom and groomsmen hang out pre-ceremony, but it’s also available for overnight stays. The cabin sleeps 12 and includes a full kitchen, a cozy master suite, a loft with three large beds, and a second bedroom with one large bed and four bunk beds. Downstairs, the basement has a ping pong table, billiards, foosball, and a TV — the perfect lounge space for winding down or hyping up.

The cabin sits next to a peaceful pond with a dock, which is another dream photo spot. Whether it’s a private first look, a moment alone at sunset, or a quiet walk together as newlyweds, this corner of the venue offers serenity and softness that balances beautifully with the rest of the space.

A Wedding Venue in Coweta County With Heart

Of all the things I could say about this venue, what struck me most was how much heart Hank and Kara have poured into every inch of it. Kara told me they truly feel the Lord blessed them with this land and that it’s their joy to share it with others. And that’s exactly how it feels when you walk the property — like you’re somewhere special, somewhere that was created to hold joy.

As a wedding photographer serving couples across Atlanta, Savannah, and North Georgia, I’ve seen dozens of venues. But The Venue at Murphy Lane in Newnan, Georgia stands out. 879/”””””””””””””And not just for its stunning visuals, but for the experience, the people, and the peace it brings.

If you’re a bride dreaming of a spring wedding filled with warmth, elegance, and picture-perfect scenery at every turn, I can’t recommend The Venue at Murphy Lane enough. Let’s connect and plan your day — I would be honored to capture your story here.

Every detail of the Madelyn Tenney Events Spring Design Showcase 2025 was pure magic. As an Atlanta wedding photographer, I had the joy of being invited to capture not only the beautifully curated spaces but also the intimate behind-the-scenes moments that made this spring showcase possible. From lush florals to elegant table settings, the event was a treasure trove of spring wedding inspiration for brides dreaming up their perfect day.

Hosted at Nova Studio in the heart of Atlanta, this carefully crafted experience was designed to set the tone for the upcoming wedding season—and it did not disappoint.

Spring Wedding Inspiration for Modern Southern Brides

The design vision for the showcase–Prima Flora–embraced soft pastels, delicate textures, and fresh seasonal styling. Think romantic blush tones, textured linens, and floral-forward installations. Madelyn and her talented team created a setting that felt simultaneously elevated and welcoming. It was truly a perfect exhibition of what sophisticated spring weddings can be in Georgia.

As I arrived early to document the event setup, I was able to photograph the team in their element: adjusting linens, styling stationery, and rehearsing the layout one last time. These behind-the-scenes moments revealed just how much heart went into this event. It’s easy to see why so many brides trust Madelyn Tenney Events to bring their dream weddings to life.

Behind the Scenes with Madelyn Tenney Events

Before the doors opened, I had the privilege of capturing team headshots for the women behind Madelyn Tenney Events. Their energy, collaboration, and vision made it clear this wasn’t just a design showcase—it was a heartfelt celebration of creativity and community.

The environment was buzzing with excitement as florists arranged final stems and vendors fluffed the final cushions. The team’s chemistry was undeniable, and it translated directly into the seamless flow of the event itself.

The Madelyn Tenney Events Spring Design Showcase

At the heart of the showcase were the intentional design vignettes. Each space told a story, offering spring wedding inspiration tailored for modern Southern brides. One standout element was a centerpiece floral installation by Marigo Flowers, assisted by Pollen Floral Company. It floated above a table layered with blush-toned linens from BBJ La Tavola, catching the light beautifully throughout the afternoon.

An eye-catching ice sculpture by Ice Sculpture Inc. ATL added a playful, elevated touch to the scene, while live entertainment from Jewel the Ballerina captivated attendees with ethereal movement, bringing life to the experience. Glasswing Rentals curated tableware that sparkled under the natural light of Nova Studio, and JC Rental Collective and Party Bound contributed pieces that gave each setup personality and polish.
